RO vs UV vs UF vs Alkaline — which water purifier is right for your Bangalore home?

The biggest mistake Bangalore families make while buying a water purifier is asking "which brand is best?" instead of "what's in my water?" The right technology depends on your TDS, your source (Cauvery vs borewell) and your family's health needs.

RO (Reverse Osmosis)

A semi-permeable membrane that removes 90–99% of dissolved salts, heavy metals, pesticides and bacteria. Essential when your TDS crosses 500 ppm — which is most of east, south-east and outer Bangalore.

UV (Ultraviolet)

A UV lamp kills bacteria, viruses and cysts in already-clear water. UV does not remove dissolved solids — so it's a complement to RO, not a replacement. Great for Cauvery corporation water with low TDS.

UF (Ultrafiltration)

A hollow-fiber membrane that physically blocks cysts, bacteria and visible particles. Works without electricity. Useful as a final polishing stage and for areas where power cuts are common.

Alkaline + Copper

After RO removes everything (including good minerals), an alkaline cartridge adds back calcium, magnesium and potassium and raises pH to ~8.5. Copper has long been used in Indian households for its Ayurvedic benefits. We bundle both in the H+ Series.
